Attendance Zones at Lake Travis ISD

“Attendance zones” refer to the geographical boundaries that dictate which of the elementary and middle schools children attend.  Children must attend the school in the area, or zone, where they live.  However, with recent rezoning of the school district’s elementary and middle school boundaries, some students may be “grandfathered” into the school they are currently attending if the rezoning would otherwise have required them to go to a different school.

“Grandfathering” is a process by which a student who meets specific criteria may be exempt from changing the school he/she currently attends because of an attendance zone change.  The purpose of grandfathering is to provide a limited phase-in of new attendance zone requirements, thereby, providing families with certain options that may reduce family and educational disruption.  For more information regarding LTISD School Attendance Zones, visit www.ltisdschools.org/attendancezones.
