Gumbo’s on the Lake

Visit Gumbo’s on the Lake if you want some relaxing lakeside dining and delicious seafood creations.  Lake Travis is pleased to be part of the grand opening of their new location in Austin.

Owners, Shuler and Denise Page, and Tracy Shinsel and Chef Bryan Cromwell are pleased to announce the Grand Opening of Gumbo’s on the Lake. This is a joint venture that has been in the works for quite some time. Denise and Shuler are the owners of Gumbo’s North in Georgetown, and previous owners of the Gumbo’s in Round Rock. They purchased the concept from the late Michael and Yoli Amr that began Gumbo’s Louisiana Café off of Bratton Lane. Shuler and Denise purchased their concept from the original creators in 2005 and bring 12 years of experience and the intense love of their restaurant while Tracy and Bryan have a long history of restaurant ownership and management. They bring with them much talent, Chef Brian Milne, Assistant General Manager, Michael Smith and several of the long time favorites of Gumbo’s of Round Rock and Gumbo’s North in Georgetown.

Gumbo’s on the Lake will model very closely after the Gumbo’s in Georgetown. However, the menu will offer some unique items of Chef’s Bryan and Brian, as well as a cold Seafood Bar which will include choices of raw oysters, peel and eat shrimp, and crab claws. They also boast of their pizza oven offering flatbreads as an appetizer and happy hour feature!

It is their hope that they will capture not only the numerous tourists that “The Oasis Texas” draws, but to develop long lasting relationships with the new and local customers and establish a large “regular” customer base. They want to be your place to not only dine and have great food, but to have happy hour with family and friends, oysters, cocktails with the neighbors and just to sit back and watch the beautiful views of Lake Travis. They welcome families and they will accept reservations. They are looking forward to developing relationships with all of the current businesses at “The Oasis Texas”, and encourage everyone to visit, shop, and hang out all day with them!

They plan to have live music on the weekends and a Jazz brunch each Sunday. They will be open All Day every day Sunday through Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Gumbo’s on the Lake will offer To Go Service and their plan is to become The Premier Caterer in the Area. They will have a full service party planning and catering event specialist on staff full time. Both locations of Gumbo’s, Georgetown and On the Lake offer full service catering and event planning, both onsite and offsite.

Once open, keep an eye out for daily features, wine dinners, happy hours, live music lineup, crawfish boils, and events at Gumbo’s on the Lake. They are so excited to be a part of the area and are anxious to meet you all!
