The City of Lakeway is one of the most prestigious communities in the Lake Travis area. In this cozy paradise, one will find a highly modernized suburban lifestyle with pro-designed golf courses and pleasant shopping centers. This city was originally developed as a resort retirement community in the 1960s and has since sprawled into a full-service community, complete with retail businesses, banks, and offices lining Ranch Road 620. It now has over 14,000 residents calling the City of Lakeway home. The City of Lakeway is governed by a mayor and 6 council members.

Although The City of Lakeway was once primarily a retirement community, it has recently flourished as a residence of choice by parents with young children for its exemplary school system. This eclectic locale serves up a blend of old and new homesites with residents enjoying some of the best golfing and nearby water activities in the area. Lakefront estates can easily top the one million mark but homes can also be found in the high 200s and up. This area encompasses Rough Hollow, The Canyons at Cardinal Hills, and the Preserve at Lakeway.
